INTRODUCTION OF AIYO

Association of Igbo youth initiative movement (AIYIM) was formed at the 5th February 2007 at Rojenny Tourist / Games Village Oba. Upon registration the word “Initiative Movement” was rejected at the Corporate Affairs commission (CAC) Abuja, Nigeria. According to the commission we were advised to remove the word “Movement” because of the wave “MEND” MOVEMENT for Emancipation of Niger Delta and “MASSOB” Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra were making as at then.
On the 19th of July 2007 the Association of Igbo youth organization (A.I.Y.O): was registered with the exclusion of “Initiative Movement” but before now member have started mobilization of new intake into the membership of the association with the name of “AIYIM” on the 11th of September after a brief meeting, the founding patron advised that “AIYO” should be used instead of AIYIM in consonance with the name that was registered with the Corporate Affairs commission (CAC) Abuja, Nigeria.
